TAYLOR-NOAKES.
Palm leaves, pink and white asters, and asparagus plumosus brightened
the interior of Scots Presbyterian Church, Clayfield, on February 8,
when
the marriage was solemnised of Mr. Albert Hugh Taylor (youngest son
of the late Mr. F. Taylor and of Mrs. Taylor, Canterbury, Melbourne)
and
Miss Hilda Evelyn Noakes (second youngest daughter of the late Mr.
George Noakes, Albionville, Bundaberg). The Rev. A. MacKillop, B.A.,
B.D.,
officiated. The pale pink wedding bell was made by Miss Jean Walls.
The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. A. H. Smith,
wore
a sheath frock of flesh pink beaten silver caught at the side with
silver and pink roses, over a mariette slip. Her hand made Honiton
point lace
veil, mounted on flesh pink georgette, was lent by Mrs. Hillhouse,
and also formed the train. She carried a pale pink and white shower
bouquet.
Misses Elsie Noakes (sister of the bride) and Freda Smith (niece of
the bride) attended as bridesmaids. The former wore a frock of gold
tissue
over rose de bois knife-pleated mariette, finished with hand-made flowers
in pastel shades. She carried a bouquet of dahlias and roses. Miss
Smith was frocked in cloth of silver, with an overdress of Madonna
blue mariette,
finished with hand-made trails in pastel shades. Roses and dahlias
composed her bouquet.

The duties of best
man were carried out by Mr. A. H. Davies, and Mr. Fred. Ross acted as groomsman.
During the signing of the register Mrs. H. C. Wyllie rendered a vocal selo,
Mr. J. S. Wyllie presiding at the organ. At the conclusion of the ceremony
a reception was held at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. A. H.
Smith, tbe guests being limited to relatives and a few intimate friends.
Mrs. Smith wore a frock of black marietta over satin, trimmed with pin
tucks and a fringe. She carried an early Victorian posy of red roses. Subsequently
Mr. and Mrs. Taylor left for tbe Blue Mountains, where the honeymoon will
be spent. They will reside in Sydney in the future. The bride wore a travelling
frock of navy Marocain beaded in navy and cherry, with a hat to harmonise. |
