The first Legacy golf day in Pittsworth was sponsored by Vic and Freda Stirling in November 1951 and then by Ross Stirling from about 1968 to 2012; then by Stuart Stirling in conjunction with lots of other helpers since then.
Rod Stirling and Stuart Stirling were honoured to be invited to the 101st annual celebration of Pittsworth RSL and Legacy In 2023.
Rod wore his father Will Stirling’s medals. Stuart wore his great-aunt Vi Stirling’s medals. Both Will and Vi served in WWII in Egypt and Greece.
Rod and Stuart say it was an honour to be invited to the day, and gave thanks to the ones who went before and put the meaning into the occasion.
